Tell us what draws you, whether that is the wild edge of the coastline, a boutique distillery tour, a private table at a working vineyard, connection with local artists in their studio, quiet walks amongst the rainforest, waterfalls or simply a slower, more considered pace with a private picnic somewhere special.

Together we design the day in full, drawing on a private network of producers, growers, makers and access to the wild places across Hobart and the wider south.

Your host, Ben Wilkinson, is a born and bred Tasmanian with years of experience working across tourism, trade and export for the Tasmanian Government. Ben also operates Tasmanian Photography Tours, a business that started from sharing his passion for Tasmania’s wild places with others.

Outside of work, a lifetime of hiking, photography and exploring the island has taken him well beyond the usual tourist trail. Ben has built a deep network of local connections and a genuine understanding of the people, places and stories that make Tasmania special. It means you receive access to the hidden corners, local producers and experiences that come only from a lifetime of exploration and hard work.

Ben holds the keys to the city in the truest sense, his knowledge, standing and contacts across Tasmania's tourism and hospitality world open doors that would otherwise stay closed. An additional benefit is Ben’s skill with a camera. If you would like, Ben can capture images of your experience which will be provided to you free of charge, post tour, as digital downloads.

A private vehicle, a fine selection of local treats and your personal host and photographer accompany you. The day moves at your direction.

Inclusions

  • An expert local host who will unlock the Island’s secrets and craft a tailored, private itinerary based on your instruction

  • All national parks passes and permits

  • Chauffeured transport to and from your hotel

  • A fine selection of Tasmanian treats upon collection

  • Digital images of your tour provided as downloads

Details

  • Departure and Return - Your host will collect you from your hotel at 9am and return you between 5 and 6pm

  • Payment Terms - Full payment is required at the time of booking

  • Fitness / Mobility Requirements - This tour involves a low to moderate level of fitness.

Pricing

  • A$2,500 for up to 2 guests

  • +A$500 for each additional guest (up to 10 total)

  • Children under 5 travel free

  • +A$250 per tour, during public holidays and peak season (crowds are higher during these times and may impact wait times and availability)

  • Please note, as this tour is based upon your instruction, no tour entry fees, food or beverage packages or additional extras are included in the cost of this tour
